Are you studying business, journalism, or Russian? Interested in the former Soviet Union? Want to live in a young, emerging country? You should spend a summer in Almaty, Kazakhstan through KU’s new internship program. This exciting new program is open to any major, though students with an interest in higher education, entrepreneurship funding, financial development, PR and journalism, and the former Soviet Union would be most interested in this opportunity. Interns will work with one of our partners in Almaty, the largest city in this Central Asian country, and take intensive Russian language classes through KIMEP University.

DURATION – this is an 8-week long program
LIVING – students will be housed in the on-campus dormitories at KIMEP University, located in the heart of downtown Almaty
PREREQUISITES – preference is given to juniors, seniors, and graduate students; little to no Russian language ability is required as participants will have the chance to take a one-credit basic Russian course in the spring semester
LANGUAGE OF STUDY – Russian will be the main language used in everyday life, though you will have the chance to pick up a little Kazakh as well
