Beginning this week, the Office of Study Abroad will be hosting four student panels to help prepare you for your study abroad program. Food will be provided.
The panels feature returned study abroad students. These sessions will cover specific topics, and all attendees are encouraged to ask questions. The returned students will discuss their experiences abroad and can give you advice about your study abroad program. This is a great opportunity to talk to students who have been abroad! These panels are co-sponsored by the Study Abroad Ambassadors, API Study Abroad, CAPA, EUSA, and ISA. Dates and topics listed below.

October 15: Living Situations Abroad

Learn about what life is like living with host families, in student housing, in off-campus apartments, or during faculty-led programs. This is definitely a great session to attend if you are trying to decide what type of housing to live in when you are abroad.
October 22: Staying in Touch

Worried about how you will stay in touch with friends and family at home? How will you communicate with the friends you meet abroad? This session will cover using mobile phones abroad, recommended apps, blogging, and more.
October 29: Independent Travel

Planning to backpack while you study abroad? No matter where you are headed, this session is a great way to learn how to plan independent travel. Panelists will discuss safety, cheap travel options, and recommended destinations.
November 5: International Internships

Interested in a summer internship abroad? Have friends that are thinking about interning abroad this summer? Join us for this panel and hear from former interns abroad.
